Harry spent his five year baking apprenticeship at the Richmond Bakery in Aberdeen, Scotland while Diane was working in the office of the large Strathdees Bakery.

Diane and Harry came to New Zealand in 1966 with their two children Donna and Scott.

Both Diane and Harry have had a variety of jobs but decided to start the Scottish Bakery in 1989.
